Australia- Morton Island

More on our trip.
One day we went out to an island called Morton Island. We took a boat out and spent some time on the beach and sand. It was so beautiful. The water is sooooooo blue. It was the most beautiful ocean water I have ever seen. We saw dolphins and Dave had the opportunity to do some fun ocean and boat stuff. He went scuba diving! Originally signed up for a snorkel trip he found out they added the option of scuba diving that day! So, he went. WOW! He loved it, smiling from ear to ear under the water and the whole rest of the trip. He saw sharks and rays and numerous fish.
The area they went was a bunch of ship wrecks. Interestingly they were dragged there to create a calm bay. So, there are a bunch of shipwrecks off the beach and a bunch of snorkelers. There were some sea kayaks and rafts too. I would have loved that, not offered by our tour, but sticking your face in the water with a little tube and where you can't touch the bottom, well, call me a wimp, but that is just more than I can take. I had a great time taking photos, maybe too much of a good time after you look at them. :) Oh well.
Dave also did an activity called Boomnetting. That is you go out behind the boat on a net while the boat goes speedily. You have to hang on to the net and feel the ocean. Several people got washed off the net and the boat stopped and went back for them. A staffer also jumped off to help the person back on. As you can see they wore PFD's. It honestly did not look at all fun.
So here are some samples of the Morton Island day. If you want to see them all, go to the snapfish page and select slide show.

Keep on the Sunny Side

The Whites - Keep on the Sunny Side
(Depression Era song)

There's a dark & a troubled side of life
There's a bright, there's a sunny side, too
Tho' we meet with the darkness and strife
The sunny side we also may view

[cho:] Keep on the sunny side, always on the sunny side,
Keep on the sunny side of life
It will help us ev'ry day, it will brighten all the way
If we'll keep on the sunny side of life

The storm and its fury broke today,
Crushing hopes that we cherish so dear;
Clouds and storms will, in time, pass away
The sun again will shine bright and clear.
Let us greet with the song of hope each day
Tho' the moment be cloudy or fair
Let us trust in our Saviour away
Who keepeth everyone in His care
