Zoo

We just had a fun day at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. Olivia took a friend this time. We got to pet the Wallabies and feed the Giraffe. I think this is the best Zoo I have ever been to. Glad we live so close! It is not huge but it is great and unique. Of course I had to go and forget the camera, but it was fun to not worry about getting photos of everyone, even though I do love that.
We were sad that many animals were lazing around, but what else are they going to do. We learned that Rafiki, the male gorrilla is getting better from being ill. We were a bit concerned for him. I really like the gorillas. We got to see the wolves up close, they came down to the window area. We heard them howeling from the parking lot too, that was fun. It was all cloudy and misty and their sounds were really great with the weather. Since we saw Simba, Pumba and Timon today we are watching the Lion King in lieu of a nap. One of my favorites.
Fun thing to do on the last day of summer! School starts tomorrow for the girls 6th and 4th - WOW!. The boys started MWF am preschool on Monday. So they will all be in school tomorrow. Summer over so soon.

Keep on the Sunny Side

The Whites - Keep on the Sunny Side
(Depression Era song)

There's a dark & a troubled side of life
There's a bright, there's a sunny side, too
Tho' we meet with the darkness and strife
The sunny side we also may view

[cho:] Keep on the sunny side, always on the sunny side,
Keep on the sunny side of life
It will help us ev'ry day, it will brighten all the way
If we'll keep on the sunny side of life

The storm and its fury broke today,
Crushing hopes that we cherish so dear;
Clouds and storms will, in time, pass away
The sun again will shine bright and clear.
Let us greet with the song of hope each day
Tho' the moment be cloudy or fair
Let us trust in our Saviour away
Who keepeth everyone in His care
