Thanksgiving and Snow 2008

Snow!

Well, we just got almost 3 feet of snow. It just kept snowing and snowing. The kids had so much fun. The first day they went out and sledded in the grass!!!! They were so desperate for snow. The girls just could not wait to introduce their brothers to the wonders of winter and sledding. So, off they went. It was fun for all. Well, it kept snowing. The kids went out in the heavy snow and played very happily. Then we ate snow ice cream, cookies and hot chocolate. The next day there was sun and so much snow! They stayed home from school because we could not get out of the driveway in time for school. Yeah! What fun they had out side sledding, making caves in the side of the driveway and making a snow man. It was lots of fun. And the girls were not disappointed, the boys LOVE the snow and playing in it too. No one was too cold to have fun.

We celebrated Thanksgiving at my aunt and uncle's home this year. The seven kids had a lot of fun. Here is a picture of the boys with their cousins. Our big girls really did not get into the bouncing on the bed fun thing.

Keep on the Sunny Side

The Whites - Keep on the Sunny Side
(Depression Era song)

There's a dark & a troubled side of life
There's a bright, there's a sunny side, too
Tho' we meet with the darkness and strife
The sunny side we also may view

[cho:] Keep on the sunny side, always on the sunny side,
Keep on the sunny side of life
It will help us ev'ry day, it will brighten all the way
If we'll keep on the sunny side of life

The storm and its fury broke today,
Crushing hopes that we cherish so dear;
Clouds and storms will, in time, pass away
The sun again will shine bright and clear.
Let us greet with the song of hope each day
Tho' the moment be cloudy or fair
Let us trust in our Saviour away
Who keepeth everyone in His care
